Plasma eye drops for dogs

My dog has an ulcer in her eye and is on antibiotics, pain killers, eye gel and now some blood plasma eye drops. Should she be in so much pain when the plasma eye drops are used? She seems to be ok with the eye gel it's just the drops that are so painful
