Ordinary Words That We Hate ... And Why?

Are there any quite ordinary words that you really can't stand?

And why?

I hate the word "cruet".

It's so, sort of ... seaside landlady.

Two words I hate more than any others:-

'Reem'- as in ' that bird is well reem' and ' jobby' to describe a turd- had a Scottish woman who worked for me for a while who used to ues it a lot and God I hate it.

Boxy, to say you 'thoroughly' enjoyed something is an indication of the degree of enjoyment you experienced. Some things I enjoy, and some I thoroughly enjoy.

Nox, I've never heard of 'reem'. Does it mean good or bad?

I can't stand the use of "guys" as in "you guys" when refering to a small group of people, especially if the group includes me. HATE it.

I hate the word SCENARIO

It means good, nice beautiful Naomi, but I hate it- it's a Swedish word that somhow got imported and adopted by chavvy twerp types and I loathe it... another couple and ' guestimate' and ' ballpark figure'- just kill em.

Yes naomi - I know - but there is still something about the combination of words which riles me. I can't explain why!

I know what you mean. Words like 'hubby' and 'Crimbo' and 'leccy' - those shortened words - get me like that.

cardi as short for cardigan... usually preceded by senible and white.... and followed by it goes with everything.... No it doesn't it just makes you look old
