I have a boxer/bulldog mix, she is 9 months old and currently weighs 35 lbs. A few weeks ago I noticed that when it was really quiet I could here popping while she was walking. Also if i put my hand on her lower back i can feel popping. I have read all about Hip Dysplasia and she shows no other signs of it. She is very active and is definitely not in pain. Anyways I want to take her to the vet for x-rays but they are way too expensive. What might it be if its not CHD and what can I do to slow whatever it is down?

Can I ask how she looks when she sits? Does she sit like a frog with her hips splayed out?

The only way to tell if a dog has HD is to X-ray.
What is way too expensive? X rays for HD are from £100 dependant on what area you are in.
Why did you bother getting a dog if you can't afford to pay for medical treatment and investigations?
Is your dog insured?

She sits normal. She doesn't do the frog sit where she sits sideways. I can afford to pay for her but x rays at the vet I go to are $300 plus a sedative and I think that is a lot of money to pay if nothing may be wrong with her. So I was just trying to get some advice from people who may have dealt with the same kind of thing.
