Yes, of course, you can - or defrost it in the microwave for a few seconds at a time.
If the buffet isn't till tomorrow, it should thaw.
take it out now and separate the fillets. it should defrost before you need to cook it.
Hi Crisgal,

I've cooked salmon from frozen before but usually the ones that are in pouches that can be boiled. If its for tomorrow you can still defrost it.

i wanted to cook today really, as my ovens already on cooking a beef joint and it would leave me to do other stuff in morning before the family arrive. thanks x
I'd leave it until tomorrow. I find the texture is rubbish if it's cooked from frozen..
It only takes a few minutes to cook, anyway - I'd leave it until tomorrow morning.
What are you going to do with the salmon? It doesn't take too long to cook so I'd leave it till tomorrow.
place in waterproof bag & stand in cold water, to thaw gently
I've never found oily fish to take long to thaw anyway....unless it's huge!
I'd put it in the fridge and cook it tomorrow.

yeah i think you're right. i'll do it tomorrow x
Tambo's method is the simplest and most reliable, make sure you have at least 10 X the weght of water as salmon though.
