I don't suppose your local hospital can help?

phone the hospital, if nothing else they can give you painkillers or antibiotics, certainly a better option that being in pain all evening.

Rub Sensodyne tooih paste on it regularly (advised by dentist), works for me

There is an easier ways to get a door handle off- you could just use a screwdriver
