It is not over it is just starting . Christmas lasts for 12 days and today is just the first day, Christmas will end at midnight on 6th January 2012.
We now go by the commercial Christmas that starts in October and ends on the afternoon of December 23rd when the TV ads change to January sales (that start on boxing day) and summer holidays .
As a child we NEVER put up decorations or lights until Christmas eve and they stayed up until 12th night.
