By the smoke alarm giving the odd bleep, which means it needs a new battery. Why does this always happen in the middle of the night.

Tonight Mrs MM was cooking dinner when the strip light in the kitchen started flashing. I have a new tube but it will have to wait until tomorrow as it's too dark to see to get the cover off to replace it. Grrrrrrrrr

Nice to see that Sod's Law (also known as Murphy's Hypothesis) is in full operation at Chateau Micmak ...

Hi mic ♥ You think you have problems? My bottle of Courvoisier is nearly empty :(
Time to get another one from the cellar ;)
Know what you mean micmak about the smoke alarm.
Other things that happen during the night, my moble phone on my bedside table bleeping to let me know it needs charging.
Also I have those trip switches so sometimes, when it's dark, I turn a light on and the switches trip and I'm left in the dark looking for a flaming torch to find the ladders to get to the fuse box!!
Crikey - that's a heck of a facelift Ena - did you buy the whole tanker of botox?
I will have you know I was a looker in my time.
(Thank goodness the 'l' is not next to the 'h' on the keyboard.)
One more remark like that sunnyjim and I will set Moony on you.

Totally agree. If it can go wrong it will.

Evening Ena and Sunny and Missprim.
So pleased that we are not the only people to be woken up in the middle of the night by the smoke alarm - we have one upstairs on the landing, and another down the bottom of the stairs, and it is very frustrating for my husband! to have to stand and wait to find out which one of them is making the noise.
It has happened to me before, and the alarm was also equipped to detect CO and N-Gas and made a hell of a racket.

However, better that than having an "Incident"
strange micmak, I woke up at 4am this moning and couldn't get back to sleep - I wonder if it was your smoke alarm which disturbed me :-)
Hmmm - I should be so lucky to have an 'incident' at 4 a.m., mic ...
