One van with a flat back of nice-sized logs dumped and loaded into a mini-wall of China inside 90 minutes - phew, I am exhausted and can feel it on my back.

Where's that cup of tea now?

No snow here but the occasional hail storm rattling away - the fire is nicely smouldering. Might just be time for a crumpet with loads of butter - or perhaps a scone with clotted cream and jam - not that butter stuff they use across the Tamar on their scones......tut.

i would have both the crumpets (pikelets we call em) and the scone (pronounced scon)
Good for you. Just make sure you use proper Devon cream and not that Rodda`s stuff :-)
I'm trying to work up the energy to go out in the cold and bring in 4 packs of dog food and 16 litres of Diet Coke.

we have really nice local Cornish cream near by, straight out of the dairy and onto the scone. We try and avoid that Devonian rubbish down here.
We have Rodda`s at work. I love watching Americans trying to figure out what to do with it. Sometimes it`s goes in their tea. I`ve even seen one putting it on his sandwich.
Yum yum, now you've put me off me dinna!

237, thats funny - ever had it on an Ice cream its delish - esp when the ice cream is not as sweet as some of them. We have an amazing small maker down in Newlyn right by the bridge, called Judds which has been there since the year dot. Their ice cream works really well with the cream.

Another good one is Treleavens - based at Looe...that's worth tracking down too and their gooseberry ice cream is also well worth trying!

sorry pusskin - I was just contemplating what red wine to have with mine...NoM isn't on yet!
Yes, I have had it on an ice cream. On the coastal path at Chapelporth there used to be an icecream van that did a "Hedgehog" which was vanilla ice cream covered in clotted cream and then nuts if I remember rightly. My gran made the best cream. It was bright yellow. The breed of cow that the milk comes from makes a difference.
