Try toothpaste instead of soap. I;m told the formulation is very similar to jewellers polish
On bad tarnish stains, mrs rampart uses a clear silver polish. There are several brands, and I do not know which one she uses. She soaks the item in it, then removes it, rinses, and then polishes it with the more traditional silver paste. The clear liquid is best at removing tough stains, at least she says, and the paste is good at keeping tarnish at bay longer than the clear silver polish.
Mrs ramparts' product is probably called Silver dip and is very good.obtainable at most super markets.
Use an aluminium foil container (ex food). Fill with bicarbonate of soda solution. Drop in silver items and after a few hours they will look as good as new.
Yep, Goddards Silver Dip in the household cleaning bit of your local Tesco/Sainsbugs. About 2.70
i dont know if it works on silver or not but brown sauce cleans copper up a treat, might be worth a try.
