My 17yr old has monostotic fibro dysplasia in his left collar bone. He can usually manage the pain well with Cocodamol 30/500 and Versatis plasters.

He is having a really bad flare up at the moment and is in terrible pain. He is maxed out on the cocodamol (8 a day) and they only last up to an hr now, shoulder almost too painful for me to apply plasters.

Got an emergency appt at pain Clinic on Friday and they have put him on Pregabalin too

We use warm hot waterbottles, and baths for comfort

Anyone any ideas what I can do to help? It is terrible to see my lovely teenager in tears from the pain

allie, so sorry i have no advice, but it must be awful for you both, would you consider calling NHS 24, or a drop in surgery for advice. good luck
My son suffers from cluster headaches which are excruciating and we found that co-codamol then 2 hours later ibuprofen lyseine worked like a charm in rotation- but I don't klnow anything about your son's condition to know if that would be okay for him. Hope he feels better soon.
Phone his GP for advice, there are quite a few alternative medications and combinations to try.

Good luck.

Thanks for advice and kind words, just spoken to Drs and she thought that the Pregabalin would work like magic once it gets into his system. (only picking up prescription today) He has managed to dose a little on the sofa at the moment, thank goodness.
