I've got my MOT at 8.30 tomorrow and was wondering if I have to take any documentation or anything with me? I meant to ask my Dad but he's away to bed :|

I take my car ;-)
It depends on whether you are MOT'ing a car or a motorcycle.

I'm surprised it took to the 21st answer for someone to say that Eccles! Lol :-)

It doesn't expire until January 2nd. Such a stupid time for it to run out so I have to get it early.

It's away just now so fingers crossed for a pass :-)
Here in France we have an 'controle technique'(MOT) every 2 years, which means I get twice as anxious half as often.

Every two years? I like having it every year... Just so I know everything is ok.

It's £45 for the MOT on its own if anyone was interested lol.
Mine too expires on 2nd January, when it was the first MOT I had to take my log book as well, then all details are put on a database. As someone says just take car and chequebook.

They just phoned... need's a few things done :| £180 including the MOT isn't too bad though, is it?
They may ask you for your old MOT.
I had two cars MOT'd at F1 Autocentre this year - halfprice because I booked online. No service required and no work needed to pass. Well pleased with them.
Question Author
I wish they would hurry up! I want to pick the car up and go to sleep :|
recommend you have your sleep before driving!
Question Author
I'm not THAT tired lol.... plus that wind will wake me up as soon as I step out the door. I'm more bored than anything :|

Got the car back :) They replaced the two front brake discs and pads and done all the little bits for free :)

I'm a bit concerned with one of the advisories though... "Front to rear brake pipes have started to corrode".. that sounds quite serious to me, or is it not as bad as it sounds?
It's not .. the pipes are steel .. and will corrode eventually.
Ask garage to check them BEFORE next MOT and replace them then if you need to.

Oh good.. will do Al. Thank you :)
I book my test for a Saturday and bring along the Daily Express so I can do the 'Make You Very Crossword' while the mechanics are languishing in cow and horse manure under my car looking for rust holes and perished rubbers
You should dispose of them properly then when you have finished with them!
I don't trust places like Kwik Fit who offer cheap MOTs.

I always feel they plan to make up their loss by finding work to be done.
