The places you are most certain to see a stag are at deer centres around Scotland. The one nearest me is here at the Scottish Deer Centre, Rankeilour Park, Bow of Fife, by Cupar, Fife, SCOTLAND Tel: [phone], but I am sure there must be one nearer Glasgow.

If you want to see one 'in the wild' then you will have to go further into the Highlands. The place I have visited where I have seen red deer every time is at Lochnagar on the Balmoral estate.

If you go from Inverness to Ullapool there are loads over the mountains on that road. Best time is winter, when they begin to come down from the hills a little.
