In reality does it save money to transfer to Online Saver 5 Tariff and the gadget that monitors usage?

If you are on a bog-standard tariff and pay quarterly bills, then you will save money by switching to an online tariff- you may save more by switching suppliers. As to saving money with an energy monitor- it all depends on how YOU use the information to alter your own energy use- it certainly makes you aware of how much power different things use.
Everyone can either save on energy bills or make sure they are already on the best rates. It's quite easy really.
1. Find your annual energy statement from your energy supplier, or use estimates if you have a good idea of what you use.
2. Go to one of the price comparison sites like www.ukpower.co.uk. These sites are free to use and can do the surveys and savings calculations immediately for you.
3. Review the list of alternative suppliers and tariffs, select the one you want, fill in the application form by using the links provided. And bingo! Job done!
It takes the new supplier up to 5 weeks to complete the transfer during which time they will be in touch to ask for meter readings.
