DS is asking for a PSP for Christmas (I do not know anything about these kind of things)

I have been looking around and see that Nintendo have a similar thing Gameboy DS - I THINK they are similar or are they like chalk and cheese?

Anyway, does either have any advantage over the other?

DS is 9 years old and already has a Gameboy and Playstation2 if it helps?!*

Thanks

Hi Buttonstoo. Personally I think the DS is too fiddly for younger kids to get the hang of, but my 5 year old plays the PSP.
The PSP had music and video capabilities that the DS doesn't - the DS is more like an newer version of the game boy.

if u can afford the psp go for that, its basicaly a handheld playstation 2 but with the ability to play movies, look at pics, access internet and play wirelessly with others.

Its the equivalent of saying u want to watch a film should i buy a cheap and reasonable VHS player (the DS from nintendo) or pay for better quality and featuers and get a DVD player (the PSP)
