My Samsung Galaxy Apollo has had a 'no signal' icon showing since last week. Any incoming calls are lost in cyberspace,as are voice mail. My other fone-also on the same network, is fine.
Before I go ask Orange what the problem may be-does any one have any ideas?

I assume you've done the normal switch it off, remove the battery for a couple of minutes and then try it again (after putting the battery back in, obviously)
Your other phone on the same network is fine, so it sounds like a handset problem. Sounds like you need a replacement. You could try a different Orange SIM to see if that gives any clues.

I did have it off....but hadn't thought of taking the battery out. I'll try that now....thanks Chuck
Oh and also make sure you've not put it on airplane mode.
pasta turn phone off take out battery and sim card
wipe sim card with a dry cloth
put them back in phone and see if that works i have to do it with my phone every few months
Question Author
'airplane mode'?...the same as 'flight mode'?....the choice when I turn it on is that......and silent.
Question Author
Well.....that's interesting. I broke a nail (!) trying to get the cover off-so I just had the phone off-no battery out. This time...the signal was back when I turned it on.....
ah well...thanks for all advice-will remember for next time.
