Removing password

A friend of mine telephoned me to ask if I knew how to bypass or remove a password (I don't know) Apparently he aquired the Pentium 4 which is ex-company (perfectly legally incidentally) When switched on, it asks for username, which is already there and password, which is not of course. The company have closed down so cannot ask them. He wants to format and re-install windows but can't seem to get into the bios having tried just about all the usual keys on startup. Any advice please?
Many thanks

to reset windows
http://home.eunet.no/pnordahl/ntpasswd/

but to reset the bios ....
you need to ID the mobo
I like
http://www.cpuid.com/pcwizard.php

then visit the manufacturers support site and see (if) how the bios can be reset.
sometimes it's a link ... sometimes you have to short contacts ... it varies

removing the bios battery and giving it a couple of months while the capacitor discharges is another option .... (if the battery can be removed)

If you forgot Windows password, you can create a Windows password reset bootable CD/DVD or USB flash drive to reset your lost or forgotten Windows password http://www.recoverwindowspassword.com/ , i have created a bootable CD with the tool Windows Password Breaker and reset my administrator password successfully.
