I'm trying to get onto a spreadsheet I've not used in 6mths, it's on the new version of Microsoft Excel. It's password protected, but no-one can remember what the password it. Is there any way of removing it, or getting around it to view the sheet?

nope...
Yep. Google for 'microsoft excel lost password' and you'll find any number of password recovery software providers. One or two are freeware, others you'll have to pay for.
The easiest way is to download open office, then open the document and re-save it in word format......I believe the password protect would be removed then.

This also works for files which microsoft products think have crashed.....open them up in an open office application, resave them in the relevant microsoft format and it should re-open fine. This has saved my bacon on a number of occassions!
Excel Password Unlocker 4.0 recovers Excel passwords of all versions through 97 to 2007.
google for that to recover or remove your password
