Didn't realise until today that there was more than one sort of pheasant and that peacocks/peahens are also pheasants. (The place we went to today even hade a pheasantry - never heard of that until today either!)

I'm hoping that you're using a proper computer (and not your iPad) Sherrardk, otherwise you won't be able to enjoy Bill Maynard's song on Youtube.

Sorry, using the iPad - will get the laptop out when the weather gets really bad (as it keeps my knees warm!). Will have a look tomorrow on a proper computer.

You'd need a big pan for a peacock!

Loads round where I'm from. Apparently, when she was little, one of my cousins couldn't pronounce it properly so would be saying "look, peasants!".
Oh, isn't a peasant the same as a pheasant then, Jenna?

Perhaps that's why I didn't see any reference to a track suit and trainers when I looked up the instructions for plucking the one which I'd hit with the car!
;-)
Here is an appropriate song.

I really fancy a bit of pheasant.

I'm making do with haloumi and wild rice.
Peafowl is the word you have been searching for, sherradk.
I love all pheasants, especially on my plate, although I don't think I've eaten peafowll
