They say they will stay till Christmas. I wonder if the parade can go ahead now?
Should they be "forced out" now?
if so, how could this be be enforced,
The Bankers don't give a stuff that these people are protesting !, and what have they achieved by it?

AP, what did you learn whist having a chat, are they intending to stay to christmas, and what exactly are their points.
I learnt no more than I feel I already knew, Em.
I turned up, sat and listened to the talks, snapped a few pics and nodded inwardly in confirmation.
We've been ripped off by those that are in power, and greed reigns supreme, possibly more now than it ever has. It was just nice to see these folks going about their protest in as organised a way as they could in the circumstances; food being prepared, rubbish kept in check, portaloos on site. I took lots of pictures of the people, posters and slogans - lots of truths.
I have no idea how long they intend to stay there, as long as it takes or until they are forcibly removed I imagine.
This is one of the very few things that makes me feel happy to be a UK citizen: being allowed the right to engage in non-violent direct action.
AP, as said before not sure what this will achieve ultimately, after all here in the capital we have had endless marches, demonstrations, protests even violent riots, and now this. I would like to say i agree with this but i don't.
If you don't speak out when things are unjust then nothing happens.
The "Poll Tax" was clearly a f*ck up, the demonstrations and riots underlined that (not that I condone violent direct action), but the system did end up being reformed. Suffragettes engaged in non-violent direct action to allow women to vote.
AP. not all the bankers, banking system is bad, we or most of us have bank accounts, credit cards, mortgages. Is it just one section of the banking industry they oppose. And will some people take responsibility for their
own problems, they are quite happy to go and get loans from the bank, cheap mortgages, perhaps not so much now, but then complain when interest rates rise or the economy takes a downturn. I agree there is a lot of greed, and that in an ideal world, which this isn't, we would all be happy with our lot, but at the end of a long day sitting on your backside outside a cathedral isn't going to solve the problems of the world. And i do find it strange that if some of those protesting don't work, how do they support themselves, if students, wouldn't it be better if they were studying.
I hope this doesn't turn into the vile behaviour I have witnessed at other demonstrations, for everyone's sake.
Em, I agree with you completely. Greed - and enterprise - are inherent to human nature, and there is no cure. If all the money in the country were collected together and then shared out equally, very soon we would once again have the rich and the poor, because some would make it work for them and some would use it unwisely. Socialism/communism don't produce a rosy ideal society. Far from it.
