They say they will stay till Christmas. I wonder if the parade can go ahead now?
Should they be "forced out" now?
if so, how could this be be enforced,
The Bankers don't give a stuff that these people are protesting !, and what have they achieved by it?

ummmm

Recent daytime temperatures are above seasonable average.

What's more it is even warmer in the shelter of their tents.
Ankou

To many out all day, hard at work, earning a living for themselves and their families.
so the cause for your protest is not that enticing then ?
suggest someone get down there and have a look, if they are that interested on what's going on. No one has yet in this whole thread, determined exactly what it is the protesters are protesting about. It may have been a rail at capitalism but that seems to be a side line, to all the other causes that seem to be on offer. As to AOG's comment about some of the people going home to their nice warm beds, or indeed hotels of an evening, if true, that's the funniest thing i have heard for ages.
"No one has yet in this whole thread, determined exactly what it is the protesters are protesting about."

i did a few posts back. i guess you didn't understand it and thats good enough reason to get huffety and demeaning about them protesting peacefully right ?
Answer No. 80 em
ankou, that must have been a time back, as there are now over 280 posts on this, i guess bobbie didn't quite expect this response. As to being huffy, well i said almost at the beginning that it didn't seem to be just about anti capitalism, and perhaps you would like to be less snitty, or would that be too hard. Point me in the direction, time of that post when you said exactly what they are protesting about and i will reread it. But quite honestly i am not going to reread all these posts, just for the one point.
AOG....I still wouldn't sit outside all day.

The only time you'd find me in a tent is at a music festival...so, to me at least, it's a sacrifice.
Brenden, thanks, a voice of reason.

no em I didn't.........
"But quite honestly i am not going to reread all these posts, just for the one point."

so ....

"No one has yet in this whole thread, determined exactly what it is the protesters are protesting about."

was misdirection then.
Will no-one think of the poor old paraders on Armistice Day............?

Oh, no, that's right........we are no longer considering them.

How many of the 'offended posters' on here are directly affected by these protesters and their tents?
Brenden pointed me to the exact post, i have read through it, all very laudable, not all of it entirely practical. And why camp outside St Paul's, and whether they charge for entry or not, it's still a place of worship. Perhaps they could camp outside Parliament, a much more suitable place for a protest against capitalism, and seeing as how many others have set up camp there in the past, would be a good place to move to. Or as said before, outside No 10, plenty of media coverage there.
"plenty of media coverage there"

seems to me they are doing better by staying where they are.
if you say so.
I started to wade through this thread-then thought I should do a bit of research about the protests. My small points may have already been made-but I'll put my 2p in any way. Sorry if I repeat what others may have said.

The London response to 'occupy Wall Street' originally was based near the London Stock Exchange-a perfectly reasonable location-considering the aim of the protests. But they were encouraged to move to the St Pauls location...and were *welcomed* by the Canon of St Pauls....so-they are there *with permission*.

We are focusing on the London protests...but starting with Wall Street, there have been 100's of ongoing demonstrations across not just the US,but the globe......I think the bankers will *have* to take notice,as too many ordinary people-not just students,or anarchists,or communists...or just plain troublemakers-are affected deeply by the financial events of the past 4 years.

Just a bit of background to the events....

Perhaps some would rather not say if they are inconvenienced by the protesters, who knows. Many probably aren't, because they don't live, work in the capital.
whoah, this has come a long way since i left, we are still arguing over this? its simple, there not going to achieve anything and it is all pretty pointless
Any protest that is as global as this one, can't be ignored. We are not talking about a sit-in in the local community hall.
lol, i know, but i mean they have been there for ages, they can see that nothing is going to happen and most protests just end in violence and failure so just save all that and give up or move someplace else instead of infront of the cathedral.
