Why does Ice Cream have 'soft scoop' written on it? Can you buy 'hard scoop' ice cream?

Soft scoop ice cream is made to a recipe that allows you to scoop & serve easily. Manufacturers do make hard scoop ices but don't generally label them as such on retail products.If you see a manufacturers wholesale catalogue you will notice that they sell both 'soft' and 'hard' scoop ices.
