Surely you win together and you lose together so take the good and the bad?

Wolves fans were shown leaving early today and I was absolutely delighted when they scored two late goals to get a draw but the best ever has to be Newcastle against Arsenal last season where they came back from 4-0 nil down to draw.

I've just told my son he's pathetic and not a real football fan...haha

inacoma - I told you that in confidence ;-) xx
Newcastle, of course, can only have 52, 409 fans........but Manchester United are allowed 75,957 fans.
Have never left a Match early as Goals can be scored in the 1st or 90th minute

at mid week games when i was on night shift i always left 5 minutes before the end of the match
same as my mates from work, we would make a quick call to works security to say bike had problems starting and could they inform the plant that i may be up to 1/2 half late getting in

lots of us had trouble with our bikes and cars when united and city were playing a mdweek game :)

He's entitled to his opinion but his debating skills need a little work.

I think if you are an away fan and you team is being beaten 3-0 with ten mins to go its undertandable to want to make tracks a little earlier. it doesnt make you a fake fan, making the trip to away games and buying a season ticket makes you a fan.

leaving 10 mins before the end because your team are losing heavily and you cant bear to take another 10 mins of it is human.

I agree but for me as I said before you win together and lose together.
true but in the real world some people have responsibilities and long distances to travel, missing the last 10 minutes of a bad game is not the end of the world and shouldnt be used as a reason to assume someone is not a true fan.
'MarkRae .....Because they're not real fans.

A bit like Man Utd 'fans' who aren't from Manchester...'

A bit like 'real fans' who follow more than one team eh Mark?

If I paid upwards of £1000 for a season ticket,I,d like to feel I could leave, as and when, I felt like it.
Inacoma - you ask "What about the Irish?"

We have lots of clubs to support and if even a small percentage of the glory hunters I pass on my way home to see Linfield stopped heading to Old Trafford, Anfield, Ibrox, Stamford Bridge and Celtic Park and bothered to attend their local ground even just a few times a season then our clubs might do a little better.

As for the debate about local teams, I agree that you should go with your home town team, to a point. What about someone who is born in London because their parents moved there for work? Should they renounce their home town team? It's a difficult one and there is, in my opinion, no definitive answer. I live in central Scotland but have no intention of adopting a team to replace Linfield, they're irreplacable in my affections, but I do attend a variety of local games.

As for leaving early, I used to attend Ibrox regulalry and was consistently amazed at the number of empty seats on 85 minutes, and that's when Rangers were dominant. Sure, some have disablities or need to leave for work or a particularly long journey, but 25,000 of them? This is by no means confined to Ibrox, Celtic Park is as bad, and I used to love it when Rangers scored late as it meant the early leavers missed a goal.I always wondered if these same people used to go to the cinema and leave ten minutes before the end? As for their sex lives?
I enjoy watching my local side kick the ball around the field. The sheep vs. the cows - brilliant derby.

Pull the udder one.
Space cadet.......MR once posted that as well as being a fan of the barcodes he also followed a French team (can't remember which one)
I'll answer for inacoma...

His Dad and Uncles support ManU...he was brought up supporting them. It really is as basic as that.

I can't believe that Mark gets away with talking down to people the way he does.

I'd say some people do. Especially newbies. Being put down for spelling, grammar, music taste and now your choice of football team. Wouldn't make people want to rush back, would it?
