Allegedly from sky tv, not showing any id, gave them my phone number, gave card number but not expiry date or start date on card. She is pushing for info which I didn't give her.

D'oh I watch enough programmes about these type of callers too.

To help me answer your post, could I please have your card number, but WITH the expiry date AND the three digit security code on the back.

Then I'll get back to you.
We had one from Talk Talk last night. He said they had improved my connection to broadband. I'm not with Talk Talk!
I was nearly scammed by the same trick. Let your bank and sky know. I now never talk to any cold callers. I just say if it is important write to me and then put the phone down.
I had a call from Out of Area yesterday. they told me that my computer was emitting faults. I told them I did not have a computer. I was afraid to just leave the phone on the table as has been suggested on here, in case I was paying for the call

I didn't give an expiry date or even when she asked a commence date.
It twigged when she phoned again to press for an expiry date and suggested was it 08/13 or 08/14, got no idea. It's not my card and a few digts were in the wrong place too.
I'm not THAT thick, a bit slow on the uptake maybe.
Dont these cold calls make you sick? You really have to watch your back dont you?
They must get enough people falling for it, to make it worthwhile keep on doing it!
Did you want a Sky Subscription alba? If so ring Sky and see if you have an account set up etc.

Or if you are already a custiomer and signed up for an upgrade then phone too and see if its been actioned. If all is OK have amoan about the lack of ID.

If not report it to the police and to your bank asap.
Alba, if you gave dodgy card details, well done you - but to anyone else who gives real info out to cold callers, I'd say ring your bank NOW and report it, the card can be stopped straight away.
It's easily done at the time Albaqwerty. Some are very convincing. When I had a business I fell for a very well-dressed conman who was eventually featured on Crimewatch and caught as a result. He wanted a a chauffeur car (and the owner driving) as he had a bag with £750,000 of diamonds for Waddesdon Manor! Well - I fell for it! I drove him around all weekend! He was actually staying in local hotels and living by stealing the staffs' jewellery.

Only last week a man was arrested in my home town for knocking on pensioners' doors saying that he had cleaned their windows. So many paid up before he was caught.

It's easy to say always check an ID card - but you know that! I hope it's all OK with you.

cleaned my bank account out apart from the alleged 'coonection fee' so they won't get more than that.

Gawd, am I thick!! Feeling a right twit, was hoping to get my sons a decent internet connection. Changing bank accounts tomorrow.

I used to think I was a decent person but now everyone out there is suspect.
Phew alba..... ring your bank now though, as nibble says - they can stop your card immediately, it's a 24-7 service.

I mentioned to my OH last night that she seemed pushy. Should have twigged then instead of today. I really feel ashamed.

We live across the road from my elderly FIL, And, and we watch out for rogues. I really am feeling a right royal twit.
I never talk to them, I say 'sorry I am busy right now, please write to me' they never do!..........
Was she a Nigerian princess, alba...?
We have had a chinese girl ring the last few nights; hanen't a clue what she's on about.
