If 6 and 2 make 8,write 8,unless 3 and 3 make 7, in which case write 7, ?

reading it straight it must be '8' as 3+3 is not 7........

thats what i thought but it doesnt make much sense, its a question from the McQuaig occupational test, and theres plenty more where that came from,thanks for replying
maybe it is that straighforward then if it's an assessment. Good luck anyhow :)
