Could someone please tell me what the winter time in the UK will be when its 5pm in Hobart, Australia- is it 10 or 11 hrs that they are in front of our time.

Tasmania standard time is 10 hours ahead of Greenwich time.  But daylight saving time is from the beginning of October to the end of March.  This makes their time 11 hours ahead of us.

I forgot to say that until Saturday 29 October, we are on British Summer Time which is one hour ahead of Greenwich, so for this week, Tasmania is only 10 hours ahead.
