I've just eaten some rice that I didn't realise was out of date (the precooked pilau type). I tasted and ok, do you think I should worry? I could kick myself, I always check dates but for some reason on Friday whilst in Tosco's I bought a 2 or 3 bits with dodgy dates on.

If you still feel OK in a couple of hours, then no need to worry.

Dates tend to err on the safe side anyway

Thanks dzug, I'm feeling ok at the mo so should wake up in the morning. Thanks for answering, I do worry a bit about rice.
Don't worry, as long as it was heated up well you'll be OK. I eat all the out of date stuff in our house, how did we survive before dates went on food??

JohnK, as a rule I don't generally worry about dates but when it comes to rice I am cautious, that bacteria in cooked rice cannot be killed by heating. I'm still alive though so no harm done. Thanks to you both for your replies.
