Whats new ? We knew this was going to happen when he stepped down .
He has also changed the constitution to enable him to stay in power for period of 6 years instead of 4 . and to stay on for ever if the people want him to. We are back to a dictatorship if we ever really left it. It is not quite as bad as it seems as most Russians want a strong leader.

True modeller. People often get the sort of leader they deserve.
It doesn't mean he is good news for them though. He's managed to peddle the lie to them that they can have stability or freedom but not both. That is an easy lie to peddle in Russia though.
