How do you get those universal telly changer things to "synch" with your telly?

The controls one one of my tellys has stopped working (don't ask ... but the fact that it's the one in the kitchen might give you a clue!!!). I've got one of those replacement changer things, but no instructions.

Does anyone know how to "synch" them to work with your own telly ????

There are plenty of things more challenging than a law degree.

Cutting someone's hair properly, for example.

But if it had a manufacturer's label, I'd have found it by now.

£91 ???

I think mine was about £20, from John Lewis, I think. I bought it for a previous telly. I know, I know ... I should be more careful with the remotes.
