80's childrens tv programme

Does anyone remember a tv programme where a kid had a cloud of smoke or mist or ghost follow him everywhere. This was a programme and not a cartoon. I think only he could see this.

Could it be chocky ? It was a programme about a blue smokey light/alein thingy (?) that would appear in the corner of a boys room and communicate with him. It used to scare the living daylights out of me but i loved it !

Chocky sounds likely - I don't remember the programme, but the plot sounds like the book Chocky by John Wyndham.
