...just about to start. Anyone watching? I remember the programme after the 9/11, which I thought was one of the most shameful in BBC history. Anyone remember it? Thoughts?
What I found shameful was the treatment of the US Ambassador. He was obviously at probably the lowest ebb of his life at that time and he was, for want of a better phrase ambushed by a (hand picked by the BBC) large section of the (mostly Muslim) audience.
It does appear that the BBC got it badly wrong - not only for its imbalance in audience selection, which is rigourous, and in the timing of its broadcast.
i have been to NY and had a very pleasant meal in one of the restaurants in the Twin Towers, at night you could see the whole of NY lit up, so beautiful, it still seems bizarre that they are not there any more.
Can't find any footage of it via youtube etc but I distinctly remember how utterly haunted the ambassador looked as he was shouted down by a large section of the audience who resembled baying hounds.
