How much is a box of matches?

I have need of a box of matches for the first time in some time. I went to three newsagents on the way home and none of them sold matches, and so couldn't tell me how much they cost either.

Haven't bought any for yonks as disposable lighters work out much cheaper. I remember Puck matches used to be 2d, but those days are long gone.

Thanks, and it's just the bog standard safety matches I needed, not even Swan. I'm glad they haven't gone up too much, it's just they seem to have become less available.

with HSE regs, do you need to be 18 to buy them, after all they could be considered as a firearm when you have one lit in you hand....?

Most probably. My most prolific use of matches took place when I was well under that age.
