Sunflowers.

The spillage from my bird feeder as produced a 4ft sunflower,which as 7 buds which are all beginng to open,is this the norm for these plants?.

depends on variety - there are lots - not out of the ordinary
yes - mine too. I currently have loads of sunflowers all from the spillage from the bird feeder

Just thought I would show you one of mine. Just about past it's best now
sunflowers were all over the place this spring. this may be a good time to cut the flowers off and cut the back of the flower away to allow drying ( or you can get mould ) and feed to the birds next year. i live in yorkshire and have just cut all mine.
