He's doing 100 greatest gadgets on Channel 4...isn't he just lovely?!

I could listen to him talking for ever! He's so funny on twitter, he's just one of the best things about modern culture.

I am not a great fan of his, however,he made a great job with the audio editions of the Harry Potter books.

Erm...NO!

Can't stand the sanctimonious, too full of his own import, pain in the rear personally.
I like him, but do feel he has been on the box too much lately, and definitely don't like his commentary on nature programmes, i feel he doesn't have the right tone for such programmes.
Em10...I think the TV stations in general end up doing people/celebs a disservice in the long run. They catch on to someone's popularity then milk it to death, sticking them on any and everything they can and thus sickening even those who were fans. There is such a thing as too much. IMO.
Missnemesis, agree, i have always liked him in programmes like Black Adder, and with Hugh Laurie, but his series on America didn't go well, and his commentary on Great Migration is just too much. And was amazed to find a programme about gadgets, yes we all have them, but on for three hours, come on, talk about overkill.
Em I really liked him as Melchit (sp?) in Blackadder and watched QI at the beginning but now can't stick him but each to their own. :)
I love him and thought this was very funny. I did watch the whole programme though and it was excellent.

what was number 1?
oh yes, Great Migration - I didn't even recognise the voice but thought it was poor, not a patch on David Attenborough. I was really surprised to find who it was. I don't think he's got a "voice-over" type of voice at all.
"what was number 1?"
The lighter.
Did he do a programme many years ago when he wore a mad red wig and a very earnest expression: a spoof documentary?
In one, he interviewed a man who had defected to Bulgaria.
It was priceless. Does anyone remember what it was?
I watched this last night, and whilst it's good, i had a small complaint....

They had mobile phones, Blackberry's and IPhones in 3 separate positions in the chart they had. Surely numbers 2 and 3 are glorified versions of the first and should just have the one chart position?

Or am I putting too much thought into what was basically a fun survey?
I thought they were all the same thing as well.
I threw the Ronson refill can & 5 lighters that wouldn't work at the tv

I think you mean this.

Scotman - that's it. Thanks a lot.
Do you think the BBC would rework it and bring the series out on DVD?
He was an exceptional personal gentleman's gentleman to me .

Got me out of a spot of bother on several occasions, with Aunt Agatha
