Baby you're all that I want when you're lyin' here in my arms
I'm findin' it hard to believe we're in heaven
And love is all that I need and I found it there in your heart
It isn't too hard to see we're in heaven

So he's 'findin' it hard to believe we're in heaven' yet 'it isn't too hard to see we're in heaven'.

I love this song but that lyrical contradiction has always bugged me.
Do you agree or am I missing something?

I agree, sure as Kilimanjaro rises like an empress above The Serengeti. :)

Ah, but seeing isn't believing.
That would be Olympus, Douglas...
Mount Olympus in Tanzania – or are we talking cameras here?
if theres a comma after hard to belive it makes sense
Provided you've quoted the lyrics correctly (and it does sound familiar) there are at least two ways to make it make sense, if you play around with the punctuation:

Baby you're all that I want. When you're lyin' here in my arms I'm finding it hard to believe (that you really ARE lyin' here in my arms). Yes we are indeed in heaven. And love is all that I need and I found it there in your heart. It isn't too hard to see that we're in heaven.

OR:

Baby you're all that I want. When you're lyin' here in my arms I'm finding it hard to believe (that you really ARE lyin' here in my arms). Yes we are indeed in heaven. And love is all that I need and I found it there in your heart. It (your love) isn't too hard to see (I mean hey it's right there in your heart). Yes we are indeed in heaven.

It's been bugging me for years, lol, so I've given this matter some thought:)
I always sing "we're in Devon" anyway.....
Lol...!
Speaking of heaven, "Heaven Is a Place on Earth" by Belinda Carlisle was actually a mix-up in the pressing plant. The correct artist was Belinda Heaven and the song title was "Carlisle Is a Place on Earth" - makes much more sense...
Lol, Mark - I knew someone who hated one of those places & didn't believe in the other...
Well it sure ain't Kansas
Swedeheart's right - punctuate it and it makes perfect sense. The key phrase is "when you're lyin' here in my arms I'm findin' it hard to believe". Not the best written lyrics though.

What about the contradiction in Club Tropicana? We're told that "all that's missing is the sea" then a verse later he's watching "the waves break on the bay". Doh!
