I don't have physical deeds to my house as the Land Registry now stores this information electronically. However the Land Registry website tells me that I can buy a copy of the deeds. Would there be any circumstances where it would be advantageous for me to have these physical deeds?

The Land Registry charge for a print out of the title register (electronic record of information). You can also buy copies of documents stored by Land Registry. This is different to the term "deeds" in the sense most people think of them. If you think it is any different, firstly check you are on the official Land Registry website and secondly, what is it you think you are trying to buy?
As Jenna said, make sure you use the official site. They only charge £4.
Some of the unofficial sites charge £20 for the same service.
