My dog has had a little accident and left a distinctly pongy patch on the carpet. How can I get rid of it? The smell, not the dog.

Thank you, 2shortplanks. I'll give that a try.
Biological washing powder dissolved in a spray bottle with water will get rid of the smell and stop a dog going back to the same spot.
