At the moment I have the Morphy Richards 43693 but as usual in our hard water area, scaling is starting to appear on the outside and inside the plastic bit on the side, where you measure how much water is inside the kettle. I have used white vinegar to clean it but I cant clean inside the plastic bit. So now I need a new kettle. Can you recommend one please ? I do like a cream colour rather than just steel grey or black.

Being a tight-wad, I usually buy the cheapest on offer from Argos.

At the first sign of trouble, it goes in the bin and a replacement purchased.

I have been known to buy a spare when Argos has an offer that cannot be refused (at circa £4).
Like Hymie, I go for the cheapest. (They work well and last for ages). But £5.69? That's expensive!

Buy one of those limescale balls, smurf, they look like a bit of Brillo pad but they are brilliant - I've had my kettle six years, and the water doesn't get much harder than here on the North Downs.
Our water down here in devon is terrible for scaling up a kettle. We now use filtered water and find this stops 99% of all the limescale building up.
bite the bullet get a £5 water filter jug you can get replacement filters for around £3 if you by a 6 pack each filter will give you around 120 litres before it needs changing
(it say change after 100 but that's to get you to buy filters)
i mark my 1.50 at time litre usage on a note pad so i can keep track of when i change it

I didn't think of that, I will get a llimescale ball. I still need a new kettle though ! Any ideas ? I like something that looks nice, I was thinking around £30 - £40.
I got mine from asda for under £5 [smart price] only in white though.
