I've been to bed and got up again; had a drink of whisky and been to the loo! Still couldn't sleep so got up yet again; absolutely knackered but as soon as my head hits the pillow I'm wide awake. Bl**dy fed up!

I finally got to sleep some time after 4.30 am and woke again at 8.45 am. Didn't mind too much as it was raining quite heavily this morning so I didn't miss much! I had planned to do some gardening but, partly because of the weather and partly because I can't be arsed, I just did a bit of ironing and relaxed all day. OH walked the dog so I didn't even do that.
I previously found that melatonin capsules helped enormously but I've run out at the moment; was trying to do without them for a while as they are only approved (in USA) for short term use so I feel I shouldn't take them all the while.
As the situation is getting so bad again I will start to take them again for a couple of months.
Mad
Take a look here - Melatonin is now available on prescription for older people:

Thanks Anniemollie, unfortunately still only short-term use but I will try my GP; previously he was very unsympathetic which was why I searched on-line initially and found Melatonin capsules. I was so desperate I was looking for sleeping pills even though I am well aware of the dangers of on-line purchase of pills that should only be available on prescription.
