My male cat.. for 3 days now.. at about 3ish..pm.. has thrown up! He's happy.. playful... bright eyed and bushy tailed.. and after he's.. thrown up.. eats his tea.. whether its cat biccies or cat meat.. and goes back to bed! Which is normal for him.. Its been very humid here....Could it be the weather?... My Question is...should I take him to the vets...for a check up?Or see if he settles again....Not sure what to do..Obviously I'd hate to think somethings wrong...Ps ..I don't think he's pain either.. we had a cuddle earlier and he did hid usual puuuuuring.. dribbling and didn't complain..any ides'a??Mrs Crisper x

Cats (and dogs) barf much more readily than humans do.

I have one that eats very fast and this makes him barf.

If your little boy is otherwise well - food going in one end and out the other just leave him. If it doesn't sort itself out then take him to the vet.

They can be a bl**dy pest at times.

Thanks wolfy.... silly pussy..lol... I have 2 Bl**dy pests...the other is female she just eats a sleeps!!!.. she take after me!! lol thanks again! xx
crisper, please take him to the vet, if only to set your mind at rest. Our Rover was doing that two years ago - he was really hungry and ate all his food, then a few minutes later chucked it up again undigested. Blood tests showed that he had kidney failure (which is common in cats) and that the bile in his stomach was making him vomit. He was very easily treated with some rehydration and then a daily tablet of Fortekor - at the time he went missing, he was healthy and strong, and his blood results were as good as a well cat. Rover didn't appear to be in pain, just very hungry, and was getting dehydrated because cats get so much of their liquid from their food. Please take your boy for a blood test - just in case. they can do so much these days for cats with kidney problems.
I didn't think of that boxie - something else for me to worry about.
I hope not, wolfy, but I've learned from our experience...

I hot weather like this my mob are often a little sicky, Scrappy is maulting terribly this year and after grooming her self and a lot of brushing from me she still hacks up food followed by a fur ball, My vet prescribed Katalax it is very good for fur balls I was thinking it may help your kitty.

Hiya josaphine... thanks for the tip... might try that if things don't get better... Max is yelling his head off now for more chicken!! lol
Mr Max now knows that his acting ill and withdrawn will result in chicken and other tasty morsels.

I am glad that he is okay - it is such a worry when they are ill. I had to pay £146 for two asthma inhalers for Frankie yesterday. I get it back (eventually) from my insurance but it just goes to show how expensive furry friends are to keep.

I am very tired and am off to turf Frankie and Merlin off my bed so that I can get a tiny bit at the corner to sleep on.

:-)
Hi mrs C, I am so pleased - you never know, so it was worth checking! It must have just been a tummy upset after all, or something he found outside and ate (as they do...) Give him a pat from us, we are glad he is well!
