i rememeber reading when princess diana died about a number of women who lost their livelihoods as lookalikes...because it would be considered innappropriate...

now that amy winehouse has died lots more will be in the same boat as she is one of the most mimicked singers around....

but my question is, when does it become ok again? or was the diana thing mainly because she was a royal and really just showed up to openings etc rather than performed anything?
we have lookalikes for elvis, marilyn, bing, frank sinatra, marc bolan, hendrix etc etc...how long is acceptable?
or is it still ok to be a tribute act?

cheers

seen a Gary Glitter tribute act lately - their careers died overnight with his.
I remember that when Saddam Hussein was hanged an awful lot of look-alikes suddenly became unemployed.
I doubt if it will be long before its ok to do an Amy tribute. Someone will produce it and market it sympathetically and it'll be perfectly accepted.

The Michael Jackson tribute in the West End held a one minute silence on the night of his death and got right on with the show.
