I want to find a way when look at pages in firefox it doesn't bookmark everything, hope that doesn't confuse. I only want to set in bookmark toolbars what used to be my favourites in IE, but when look at bookmark page it seems to bookmarking everything im looking at. Its most definitely a better, quicker browser. So thank you chris.

Just right click on most visited on the bookmark toolbar and select delete and get rid of it.

Ctrl+D will bookmark your current page. I think that's what you were asking!

don't know, this is all new, as before had IE, changed to Firefox, but everything i look at goes onto bookmark toolbar, most visited. I thought bookmark was for sites you want to keep, like AB, but everytime look at AB questions its adding it to bookmarks, no i don't understand why.
Just right click on most visited on the bookmark toolbar and select delete and get rid of it.
sounds like you've got History rather than Bookmarks showing. I've got my bookmarks on the side bar - go to View > Sidebar and then tick Bookmarks, not History

Chuckfickens i have been doing that, and do have Bookmarks
toolbar side of page now. so can see the sites i visit regularly, but if add anything say on AB it immediately adds that to Most Visited, and if i answer question it just keeps on adding. Deleted history, but not sure thats the long term answer. Have set Firefox also as default from IE as advised.
"sounds like you've got History rather than Bookmarks showing"

No... on the bookmarks toolbar in firefox on of the default entries is "most visited".... it's not a history Per se, but it does keep a list of (as the name suggests) most visited sites.... however on new installs when it's not had a chance to get a list of most visited sites it will display pretty much a full history, over time it does sort itself out a bit though.

I always just delete it straight away though.
I think you misunderstood.

Don't delete the entries under most visited... right click on the actual most visited words on the toolbar and delete the whole thing.

Thank you that worked. I have a little time to sit and work around
this site, its quite good i must admit, a bit more user friendly, once you get into looking at their pages on personalising and how to add on.
That was biggest problem i guess with having everything installed on purchase as you didn't have to learn how to change things,
You have been a big help

Enabling cookies
To enable Mozilla Firefox 1.0 cookies, click the "Tools" menu, "Options", clicking the "Piracy" button, under "Cookies" check the "Allow sites to set cookies" option.
I can't find piracy, does it mean privacy?
