I was just wondering which area you are in with regard to your missing cat. I have just read my local newspaper and there is a similar looking cat in the lost and found section (although it just says can you give this cat a good home) I would hate to get your hopes up and I suspect that all tabby cats look the same to me but I wanted to mention it just in case. The newspaper is the Wakefield Express (West Yorkshire) by the way. If you live at the other end of the country I'm sure this isnt Rover.

I think Boxtops lives down South.
Although on second thoughts Rover could have wondered up the M1.
In which case Rover will be exhausted. He could have thumbed a lift.

I was thinking as much but didnt want to not mention it unless I would be thinking 'what if'? Boxtops if you want to ring the number just to 100% rule it out it's 01924 361693.
Yeh you did the right thing, who knows where cats get to, Rover could have easily got in a car or van.
a pal e mailed me with a similar story, this guy had made a few deliveries and when he got back he discovered a cat in his van and he had no idea when the cat and come aboard, he went back in his own time to each delivery address to ask but none had lost a cat, he was then going home to make posters but in the mean time the cat had gone.

Tigwig, that is really kind of you - we've been away so I've only just seen your message. Yes, we are down in Kent - and to be honest I've never known Rover get in any sort of vehicle by choice so I would doubt it's him - but I am so grateful to everyone for keeping on looking. My neighbour has held the cat-phone while we've been away, and no news at all. It'll be two months this coming Wednesday, we are hoping very much that someone has taken him in, but we are not giving up hope yet!
nice offer, tigwig - got you two (you and boxtops) nailed in a Mad 50's Club AB bard-ish offering shortly to be made over there.....
