I have bought a region 1 DVD for my multiregion DVD player. I have found out that I can't view the closed captions on my TV. Can I view these on my PC, if so, what is the best viewer to download and view these with ?

Can't understand why you can't view closed captions if the disc is meant to have it.

My TV is a UK one. All Region 1 TV's have built-in closed caption decoders to decode the signal from line 21 of their TV pictures (similar to UK's teletext signal. I am aware that I can play closed captions using a software video player on my PC, but I don't know which player to use. (I am deaf and rely on subtitles etc quite a lot).
