or do you leave it plugged in? had a few issue's with it lately but it seems to have been sorted now. just wondering if the constant unplugging then rebooting is doing it any harm?

Router/Modem has now been left on all night, Transformer warm not hot, house not burnt down (does touching cardboard work as well as wood?) And my orginal problem ( ready light kept flashing and couldn't get a connection) so far hasn't come back (touching more card board)
The problem is either with the hardware or with your provider who is not supporting the reconnection.

The other phase of this problem can also happen. The provider drops the data connection when you are idle but it leaves the DSL intact.

It happens sometimes to me and I have to disconnect and renegotiate a new connection. Sometimes it takes several attempts.
