I have a 1 year old Jack Russell cross who normally loves his chews, but recently he's been acting strange and just holding it in his mouth not chewing and looking really uncomortable with his ears and tail down - like someone's gonna take it off him. Does anyone have any tips on how to make him more relaxed and settled.
Many Thanks

Is he alright otherwise, maybe its his teeth/tooth and it is painful for him, but doesn't want to lose it either
Maybe he has a toothache or a mouth ulcer?

He is alright in himself eating his food and biscuits as normal but whenever he has a chew or bone he just looks like something is going to happen to him or it.
I know my friends dog used to do this, apparently she would do it to protect it, especially around the time of heat (obviously wouldnt be applicable here as your dog is male) but maybe the protection thing? shouldn't be too much to worry about if he is eating and drinking though. Dogs can go off their food/treats quickly though, i know my dog keeps changing her mind about what she likes xx
