Morning everyone! Thanks for all your good wishes yesterday. The obviously worked as I'm not sitting on my sofa at home with a cup of tea.

Yesterday ended up being a pretty horrible day and it's well and truly clear cuts to the NHS are shinging right on through on the wards.

milly...... the abcess ? did you get iv. antibiotics. and did they drain and pack it ? so glad your home and hopefully feeling better .

Hi Anne, Yeah the abscess. I went ito hospital to have it excised on Thursday. They've cut a hole about 2 inches deep but have decided for some reason not to pack so at the moment it's just an open wound. I think he wants to stich it in a couple of weeks. I had IV anti-biotics until yesterday and now I'm home on tablets.

uummm, I have a great big hole in my leg, so it hurts.

Mcfluff, just for that, I'm going to post a picture of the hole when you least suspect.

Oh I had that once and was in hospital for 5 days
Mind you that was twenty years ago

Not a pilonidal sinus then? (Abscess between the cleft of the buttocks, usually in hirsute people). Ouch.... now that is one hole I wouldn't particularly want to see...

Hi Salla, no - although I have had one of them before that ended up with 5 excisions/packing and finished off with a z-plasty.

This is on my left thigh. It started off as an insect bite that got infected and has somehow ended up with me having a 2 inch deep hole, about the cirumfrance of a plug hole there.
