Hiya, has anyone out there got the same problem? For the past year on and off i have been getting what i believe to be trapped wind. My stomach swells so that i look six months pregnant, i have constant stomach ache and pains that come and go. It doesn't seem to matter what i eat, and i eat quite healthily anyway. This latest episode has now lasted five days. I am taking windeze and my doctor prescribed omeprazole a while a go but i can't seem to shift this latest attack. Has anyone got any ideas please?

have you been tested for gall bladder problems ?
I have this problem when I eat too much pasta, bread and potatoes, If you eat lots of these try cutting down on them, it does make a big difference.

although...right now I look 7 months pregnant ..because I am! :oD
I have nearly the same problem, I get bloated no matter what i eat/ drink, especially coffee, eating bread, apples, pastries, ie sausage rolls/pasties. Veg is notorious but peas, sweetcorn, sprouts and cauliflower are the worst for me... so much so that i nearly always have to avoid them, although i love them.

I also eat very healthily and i don't have a sweet tooth.

It has been suggested that I maybe eating too fast, therefore inhaling a lot of air, especially if food/drink is hot.

I've got a 'Beat The Bloat' book which says to eat more slowly among other things, avoiding eating chewing gum (inhaling air) and to eat small amounts throughout the day rather than a load at a time. Or you could try those yoghurty drinks with bifidus digestivum, which i may do this week.

i'm quite thin so you can imagine how silly i look with a football tummy! Or maybe we have IBS? Must get it checked out.

Anyway, sorry for the long answer and I hope I've helped somewhat. XXX

to crete. No i havn't been tested, im going back to doctors tomorrow, im just getting impatient and just wondered if anyone had any quick fix idea's to stop the pain?!!
a quick fix which sometimes works is soda water makes you burp worth a try good luck
GobbleGobb..You have irritable bowel syndrome. You are describing classic symptoms. Do NOT take windeze, as this only expels gas which is present in the stomach and not in the gut (the intestines)

I suffer terribly from intestinal gas, which is caused by over fermentation of food in the intestine, an inbalance of intestinal flora and bacteria in the intestines, and food intolerances. You need to take supplements containing caprylic acid, i have bought some supplements called Spore Gone, i need to find the web address and shall post it later-its the best product ever. My stomach remains flat after eating, it really works!!

Also, take a prebiotic capsule every day as directed on the packet, go to Holland and Barrett and get some, it will help immensly with the severe bloating. Also, Aloe vera juice is said to help. It really does help!!

Dont bother with Peppermint oil or tea as it doesn't work for me, i have bad bloating and its not strong enough. (Unless you buy fresh mint and boil it)
Fennel tea and Chamomile tea also helps, as does Goldenseal.

Do an internet search on intestinal gas and you will find a wealth of information on it. The reason why its lasting so long is because the food is fermenting in your gut and you are probably constipated. Take an overnight laxative and you will be better in the morning and drink plenty of water to avoid water retention, which initself can make you bloated.

AVOID: White bread, Biscuits, burgers, fried greasy food (fried food is the worst culprit) avoid ALL sponge cake and similar deserts. Do NOT eat fruit straight after a main meal, it will bloat you. Snack on fruit in between meals or brekkie, and try to keep wheat eating as minimal as possible. Dont talk when eating and eat slowly taking care you chew your food properly.
I sometimes suffer from this prob and I agree with the person who said cut down on pasta, bread, wheat etc. It helps me.
Also I found that when I ate fruit after my meal, it made things worse, so I eat my fruit now in between meals.
