I have a new Toshiba C660D laptop and have tried to connect my printer, a HPDeskjet 5700 series. I keep getting a message saying this is not compatible. Any suggestions on what I can do to get it working, or what the problem might be.

Looks like you'll need the 64bit drivers.
OK I should have read that, it says install using windows update, have you tried running a update with the printer connected and turned on?

Where do I find "update" I am not computer savvy (silver surfer!!)
Windows7 makes it pretty easy to find anything. Just click on the start button and then type whatever you are looking for into the search box at the bottom of the start menu. So just type update. then select windows update from the list.

(you can get away with just selecting update device drivers, but a full update is never a bad idea, it may take some time though)
