my grandad has lived alone for a while now and his house is starting to look like something off 'life of grime' he is a hoarder and its just a tip. I am messy myself so I know this is serious. he wont allow the council in to sort it, but I live too far a way to see him regularly - i'm in liverpool, he is in scotland.

does anyone know where i can find nice ordinary people who LOVE cleaning, that i can say are my pals rather than getting a team of blokes in white suits in, which would upset him.

even a fetish site would do!

someone like monica off friends - lol

What a nice thoughtful person you are to think of trying to do this in a sensitive way!    Could the local Social Services Dept provide you with the name of a Home Help who might like to earn a little money by doing a oneoff "freelance" job & pretending to be a friend of your,  or the name of a Domestic Agency who could help?  Alternatively, could you write to any of his immediate neighbours, asking if they know of anybody who could help?  (Who knows, somebody might possibly volunteer! ).  Otherwise, would he accept a "Birthday present" from you to pay for a one-off Spring Clean on the basis that you would  do it yourself but are too far away?  Old people hate to admit that because of age or eyesight they can't see the dirt or cope with the massive effort of a clear-up.   Good luck with trying to find a solution.
