We're having a new kitchen installed at the moment by a family member. Unfortunately we have noticed a few scratches on the brown butchers block work top already. (Nothing major, but noticeable) Is there anything you can buy or do to get rid of these scratches?

Thanks

Buy a nice carving knife and make a load more? That's what that kind of top is there for .. right?
What is the material? Oiled hardwood?
The fact that it is wood will mean that scratches are bound to appear on an unprotected surface. Certainly not a good choice for a work surface, As the name implies it is a work surface and unless everything is put down extremely carefully, and pots/pans, untensils etc are are always lifted and not pushed about on the surface then it will get worse as times go on. Sorry to be so negative but you will have to live with scratches continually appearing. Far too many abrasives are used in a kitchen, salt, sugar, herbs, and even flour.
